Northern Iceland: Sights in the Snow

Fast facts first, photos to follow:

  • Akureyri is a town, not a city
  • Iceland converted to Christianity at the Goðafoss; which translates to “Waterfall of the Gods”
  • Iceland is cold
  • Eyjafjörður, in the central north, is the longest fjord in Iceland
  • I have yet to encounter any Elves…or even a troll
  • 25% of Iceland’s total electricity production is geothermal
  • “Sex” means “6” in Icelandic. Don’t make the same mistake I did…

Enough of my pseudo-intellectual nonsense; it’s time for photos. Enjoy!
